Unesco World Heritage Site - n'Ajjer
The Tassili n'Ajjer is located in the far southeast of Algeria, accessible from the city of Djanet. The Tassili n'Ajjer is a high plateau that is a Unesco World Heritage Site. There are many petroglyphs and engravings that show that there was already a human culture in this area at least 10,000 years ago. It is said that this is the largest collection of prehistoric art in the world. The geological formations found here consist of eroded sandstones, which form 'rock forests'. On the plateau at Tamrit you can admire centuries-old cypress trees.
