A magical lake in all shades of rose
From Dakar you can visit the famous Lac Rose: a magical lake with a striking pink color. The salinity is only inferior to that of the Dead Sea. The surroundings of the lake consist of the typical African bush, sand dunes and beautiful deserted beaches. During a trip around the lake you can see the color of the water change from pink to red, depending on the amount of sun rays. Salt extraction is one of the main sources of income in this region, a task mainly done by women.
