Paris of the East
Warsaw, one of the most dynamic metropolitan cities in Europe, rose like a phoenix from the ashes after World War II, destroying 85 percent of its buildings. Today, Poland's capital has an interesting mix of architectural styles, from Soviet-era blocks and modern skyscrapers to restored Gothic churches and neoclassical palaces. Warsaw has a charming old town, complete with cobbled streets with pastel-coloured buildings and open-air cafes. Look forward to various activities including a walk across the old city's market square to see warsaw's Mermaid Monument, or how about exploring the impressive Baroque Krasinski Palace or a visit to the medieval Barbican, one of the few original relics. Experience for yourself why Warsaw is also known as "the Paris of the East"!
