Nature reserve and reservoir
In the heart of the tropical rainforest on the Mazaroni bauxite plateau lies the area of Brownsberg at an altitude of 500 meters. This large nature reserve has beautiful views over the Brokopondoreservoir and the vast jungle. There is a great diversity of flora and fauna, with almost every visit birds and frogs are spotted and you can hear the howler monkeys. A hefty forest walk will be more than worth it when you arrive at one of the area's beautiful waterfalls, where you can enjoy a unique natural 'water massage'. The Brokopondo reservoir with its signature excellent treetops is ideal for adventurous canoeing, bird watching and piranha fishing.
