The city is protected by a large statue of Christ on the surrounding hills, a plateau called <strong>Humpata<\/strong>. The Christ statue is a replica of the one near Rio de Janeiro. In Lubango you will find many colonial buildings, pleasant bars and restaurants as a legacy of the Portuguese period. Visit the spectacular gorge <b>Tunda Vala <\/b>or the statue <strong>of Christ<\/strong> where you will enjoy breathtaking views of the city.    <\/p>\n<p>\n  Lubango is also the ideal base for visiting the diverse tribes of southwestern <a href=\"\/?continent_category=angola\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Angola<\/strong><\/a>. In the vicinity of Lubango live the <strong>Muila<\/strong>, <strong>Handa<\/strong> and <strong>Khoisan<\/strong>.
