{"id":289468,"date":"2023-03-20T14:50:41","date_gmt":"2023-03-20T12:50:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.untamedtravelling.com\/klantervaring\/ward-and-inge"},"modified":"2023-03-20T14:50:41","modified_gmt":"2023-03-20T12:50:41","slug":"ward-and-inge","status":"publish","type":"quotes","link":"https:\/\/www.untamedtravelling.com\/en\/customer-experience\/ward-and-inge","title":{"rendered":"Ward and Inge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Best,<\/p>\n<p>For the third time in a row, travel specialist Mari\u00ebtte provided us with another wonderful travel experience.<\/p>\n<p>This time we had the 15-day trip completely filled out by her since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.untamedtravelling.com\/bestemmingen\/afrika\/zuid-afrika-reizen\"><strong>South Africa<\/strong><\/a> is very close to her heart.<\/p>\n<p>The Christmas season is very busy in South Africa, but she still made sure we never felt like it was crowded or touristy.<\/p>\n<p>Mari\u00ebtte came up with an alternative, very varied route from <b>Port Elizabeth <\/b>to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.untamedtravelling.com\/bestemmingen\/afrika\/zuid-afrika\/kaapstad-en-kaapse-wijnlanden\"><strong>Cape Town<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We left Schiphol Airport on 23\/12\/22 for <strong>Johannesburg<\/strong> where we stayed overnight at the airport.<\/p>\n<p>The next morning we flew to Port Elizabeth where our car was waiting.<\/p>\n<p>We immediately drove the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.untamedtravelling.com\/bestemmingen\/afrika\/zuid-afrika\/westkaap-en-de-karoo\"><strong>Karoo<\/strong><\/a> and were able to enjoy some rugged safaris at high altitudes. Even though we already have dozens of safari trips on our record, this was another very nice experience!<\/p>\n<p>Three nights we stayed at the <strong>Mount Camdeboo Private Game Reserve.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Not much further, we spent 2 nights at the <strong>Drostdy Hotel<\/strong> in Graaf-Reinet.<\/p>\n<p>A wonderful stopover where we blissfully enjoyed <strong>The Valley of Desolation<\/strong> twice. The sunset was the perfect finale!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prince Albert<\/strong> was a quiet stopover where we explored <strong>Swartberg Pass <\/strong>with a professional guide, 27 km of pure nature with the cliff jumper as the icing on the cake.<\/p>\n<p>In<strong> Swellendam<\/strong> we enjoyed the tranquility of the beautiful village and our hotel <strong>Schoone Oordt Country<\/strong> House before leaving inland towards the coast. Spotting and being able to capture South Africa&#8217;s national bird, the Blue Crane with chicks along the way was a kick-ass moment for me as a photographer!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lekkerwater Beach Lodge at De Hoop<\/strong> was our next destination in De Hoop Nature Reserve. An insane experience on all levels! Culinary delights and super friendly staff. This was allowed to be more than 2 nights.
