Round trip Senegal

David Vecht traveled to Senegal and made an 11 day tour with a private driver. He visited the highlights Ile de Gorée, Lac Rose, St. Louis, Lompoul, Niokolo Koba National Park and the Saloum Delta.

Dear Dorian,

We have just returned from a beautiful trip. Very special to travel through this part of Africa; the hectic, chaos and clutter, it all seems to work. Senegal is a country that is difficult to describe and you have to experience it yourself. Traveling here is quite different than in countries such as Nambia and Botswana, where people seemed to be more used to tourism. On the other hand, it also gives a much more authentic view of a country.

Fortunately, traveling during the rainy season was not that bad, even though we were already somewhat used to the heat due to the unique summer here in Europe. On some night showers in the Saloum Delta after we have not seen any rain. Very nice for us, a little less for the local farmers... Because of the rain we have seen beautiful green areas in the south. We also saw a surprising amount of wildlife in the Niokolo NP . Afterwards we turned out to have been very lucky with this, but as said before, with a safari you never know in advance what you are going to see.

Our compliments for the tight organisation. You have very strong local contacts which makes traveling a lot more pleasant. It was also nice that the contact person at the airport recognized us on departure and, since we were very early, let the check-in open a little earlier especially for us.

Also thanks to the guide. Knows a lot to tell about his country and also provides some sense of comfort at a few moments when it was a bit more uncomfortable to be the only two white people walking around somewhere.

Once again, we are very pleased with the progress of our trip and will certainly approach you again for future trips to Africa. In any case, we already have some countries on the list.

Sincerely,

David Vecht
