Safari at the foot of Mount Meru
Arusha N.P. is a small park with a wide variety of landscapes, from vast plains to crater lakes and alpine vegetation. The park is dominated by Mount Meru, at 4566 meters the second highest mountain in Tanzania. The flanks of the mountain are dominated by lichen-clad trees, in which Colobus monkeys meander. At the foot of the mountain, with sharply jagged crater rims, are the Momella Lakes in which hundreds of flamingos live. When the weather is clear, you have a beautiful view over the plains of Kilimanjaro.
