In a hammock on an island in Lake Malawi
Mumbo Island Camp is built on a pristine abandoned tropical island in the warm, crystal clear waters of Lake Malawi National Park. With over 2000 different species of fish, this area is one of the most beautiful places in the world to dive or snorkel.
The small, intimate eco-camp features six tastefully decorated and comfortable tents where up to 14 guests can stay. Tucked among the lush greenery, each tent has its own terrace/veranda. Take a seat in the hammock and be seduced into blissful inaction and listen to the call of the osprey.
Mumbo Island was never inhabited, so the original flora and fauna are well preserved. The focus is therefore on practicing non-motorized water sports and active outdoor living. Put on your shoes and look for the spotted-necked otter or the rare Cape clawless otter.
