Land of a thousand hills

Rwanda JOURNEYS

Mountain Gorillas, Virunga and Akagera

Rwanda is known for its evergreen hills - hence its nickname 'land of a thousand hills' - and its mountain gorillas . Rwanda is one of the few countries, along with neighboring Uganda, where mountain gorillas still live. They live in the Virunga Mountains, in the northwest of the country. This Parc National des Volcans also offers ideal opportunities for mountain hikers. In addition, Parc National Nyungwe Forest with over a hundred species of orchids and about three hundred different bird species is more than worth a visit.

Specialty Coffee

Thanks to the right climate and enough altitude, Rwanda is also one of the rising stars in the world of specialty coffee . It has proven itself over the years to belong to the absolute top of terroirs. Take a walk on a coffee plantation, be informed about the process from planting to grinding and taste!

OUR CUSTOMER EXPERIENCES

Laura and Pieter Quak-Verborg

Dear Mrs. Jansen and dear Trees, Our tour of Rwanda in July 2018 was even more beautiful than we expected. Rwanda is considerably more than Vulcanoes National Park with the Golden Monkeys and the mountain gorillas we met of course. The hilly landscape is breathtaking, with beautiful tea plantations in the south. The meandering road from the north to the south is rightly called 'scenic' with beautiful views over valleys with villages and arable farming. Friendly people everywhere. Lake Kivus of…
