National musuem of Rwanda
Butare is the former capital of Rwanda, located in the south of the country. In Butare you will find the country's most important museums, beautiful botanical gardens and there are good crafts shops. The National Museum of Rwanda is located here, which contains a lot of information about the cultural history of the country. Around Butare you can follow a historical route past the villages of Kagbayi, Ruhango and the king palaces of Nyanza.
