HIP & COZY
White beaches and bright blue water, that's what you're going to Montego Bay for. One of the popular beaches, Doctor's Cave Beach, was named after an English chiropractor who attributed the clear water healing properties. You can also lounge at Sunset Lodge and Cornwall Beach for an afternoon.
The Hip Strip, also known as Gloucester Avenue, runs along the entire length of the beach. Take the time to stroll around and enjoy a pleasant evening. Take a romantic trip by bamboo raft on the Martha Brae River or go no to the luminous Glistening Waters lagoon.
HISTORY AND CULTURE
In the National Museum West, admire various objects that symbolize the history of West Jamaica. The museum aims to keep the local culture alive, from the indigenous people to the colonization and the international slave trade.
Sam Sharpe Square is the main square of Montego Bay, where you'll find the Cage, a small building used to lock up drunken sailors and slaves. You can also admire the National Heroes Monument here.
Take a tour at Rose Hall Great House. According to the legend the ghost of Annie Palmer, a white orphan who was raised with voodoo and witchcraft, wanders around here.
MONTEGO BAY MARINE PARK
Go diving among the colorful corals or discover the mangrove forests by kayak at Montego Bay Marine Park. This park stretches the entire length of Montego Bay and has been a protected area since 1991.
