A natural oasis in the northwest
Durmitor National Park is characterized by high limestone peaks, clear blue glacial lakes, extreme gorges and vast meadows. Wild animals such as bears and wolves have their habitat in the ancient forests. From December to March Durmitor is an important ski area and in summer it is the perfect place for long walks, adventurous rafting and other active pursuits.
The most spectacular is the beautiful 1300 meter deep Tara River Canyon, surrounded by snow-capped high peaks and special flora. It is the second longest gorge in the world and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
