Relaxed beach stay, cultural discovery and St. Nicholas
The most famous resort in this part of Turkey is the busy Marmaris, but along the coast there are also interesting, smaller resorts where you can relax. In Marmaris you will find a beautiful citadel and caravanserai. At the foot of the Taurus Mountains you will find Fethiye. Here you can visit the castle, the remains of the ancient theater and the local museum. In Myra, now called Demre, you will find historical attractions such as the Roman theater,the Lycian rock tombs and of course the grave church of St. Nicholas who was bishop here in the 4th century.
