Best,
We started the journey in hotel B-Art in Lima . Very nicely decorated, beautiful art, nice breakfast. In Arequipa we stayed at Casa Andina Private Collection. Beautiful building, handsome courtyard. Very pleasant and enthusiastic guide (Mily). Arequipa is a beautiful city, the monastery is well worth a visit. Then direction Colca Canyon . Pleasant tour, nice drop-off points and the last two hours on foot. Cool.
The next day towards Lake Titicaca, long day in the car. Titilaka lodge was fantastic! Nicest hotel of the trip. Beautifully located, very nicely decorated, super nice rooms, all comfort. First time a shower with a bright jet. Nice breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nice bar, very nice outings. Lots of pictures of Uros. We definitely would have liked to stay here longer. Then by plane to Cusco . Also here a very good guide "Alberto", a very driven young man, taught us a lot.
Today we made a very nice walk, a tough trip from six in the morning to five o'clock in the evening. Overnight stay near a lake of around 4,000m. Together with Lake Titicaca, the days of the trekking were the best part of the trip! We did find the accommodation very basic during the trek. Furthermore, this experience was incredible, wild nature, almost no other tourists, regularly met locals, the silence. Unforgettable.
Short train journey towards Machu Picchu . Then back to Cusco. Half day at your disposal, have lunch at Belmond hotel. Definitely recommended, beautiful courtyard, top service and staff, very good food at European prices.
On the day of departure we were able to keep the room until late afternoon. Wash well. Consulted Tripadvisor and had an extensive lunch in "El Mercado" world top and definitely worth a star. Great concept, tasty apero and wine. Highlight number three.
At night tired and satisfied home from a tiring but very beautiful holiday.
Thank you.
Greetings
The little Luca
