It took a while, but we would like to thank you extra for the beautiful trip you have provided and especially for the fantastic memories and experiences we have gained; they are indeed memories for a lifetime , simply unforgettable! The support from Wilderness was very professional and the travel program perfect.
There are a few points that we might have done differently. Do not get me wrong; we have not experienced it as negative at all:
- Upon arrival in Windhoek you will be received and 'briefed' by an employee of Wilderness and then you will pick up the rental car (with the check-up of the car; this is done by Wilderness, we found very positive). Finally, when you're done with everything, it's about 12:30 PM and then you have a five-hour drive to Bagatelle; for us that was no problem but I think for slightly older people quite heavy.
- Swakopmund was very nice but we arrived there on Sunday and unfortunately everything is closed then; I must say that you solved that well because we had that Township tour and that was an enriching experience (The Stiltz was top notch contrary to what Trip Advisor claims).
The Tok Tokkie Trail was simply unforgettable, highly recommended and the nice thing is that you get to experience the desert up close, we also had a fantastic guide.
Grootberg Lodge was very nice and I would recommend the Himba excursion to everyone, the Sossusvlei is indeed one of the highlights, but also the safaris (beautiful leopards, lions, white and black rhinoceroses, hippos and wild dogs...).
The lodges in Botswana were almost magical, words will always fail to describe this trip.....
