Rich in history
Luanda, an amalgamation of two disparate urban districts, is the largest city and also the capital of Angola, located on the Atlantic Ocean. The low-lying old district of Baixa , which lies next to the country's main port, is characterized by narrow streets and old colonial buildings. Visit the National Anthropological Museum, the Eiffel-built Ferro Palace, the ornate Baroque church Nosa Senhora de Nazare, Hotel Grande Universo and the extraordinary open-air market Roque Santeiro.
The upper part of the city, Cidade Alta, was where the Portuguese settled in the sixteenth century. Go back in time while visiting the Fort Sao Miguel they built which houses the Military Museum. Also very special; the slave museum and one of the largest craft markets in the south of this extraordinary city. Where the world can't find you....
