Tau Pan Camp is the first permanent camp within the world famous Central Kalahari Game Reserve. The camp sits on a low ridge of sand with magnificent views over a waterhole and the surrounding plains of the Tau Pan. The eight chalets have thick walls and low-hanging thatched roofs that provide a cool refuge during the day and for warmth at night. Each room is comfortably furnished with a small sitting area, oversized bed, simple and attentive décor.
Activities depend on the time of year but game drives are the norm just like San guided walks. During the dry season you can spot black mane lions and brown hyenas, during the rainy season the spectacle of migrating animals.
Delectable Afro-inspired meals are served by candlelight under the stars or in the elegant dining room while the spacious veranda is the perfect place to admire the red sinking sun.
