Capital of the Central African Republic
Bangui is the capital and largest city of the Central African Republic. The city itself is located on the northern shores of the Ubangiriver, which forms the border between the CAR and Congo Brazzaville. Bangui has a number of extraordinary historic buildings, such as a large Roman-style triumphal arch on the Place de la Republique, a central market where many food, vegetables and soap are traded, and the presidential palace. The beautiful hilly surroundings with its many rapids and waterfalls invites you to stay in Bangui for a little longer.
