Cathedrals of coral

Snorkel over fields of coral, and look for colorful fish, lobsters and starfish. Swim the sandy lagoons full of sea grass, where sea turtles and maybe even manatees graze. Experienced divers can indulge in multiple dives to very diverse underwater landscapes. Explore endless fields of coral, sea anemones and sea sponges, explore gorges flanked by jagged rocks full of vegetation, and go along steep chasms in search of reef sharks and barracudas. Spend the time between dives on one of the many islands in the bay for relaxing hours and a blissful lunch. During an exciting night dive, you will look for moray eels and lobsters.

Underwater exploration

Since 2001, a marine area of over 400km2 has had protected status due to its particularly rich marine life. Most notable is the coelacanth, an extinct brush-finned fish that lives at great depths. More visible are humpback whales, several species of dolphins and bottlenose dolphins, reef sharks, moray eels and manta rays. They live in and around a landscape of magnificent coral reefs, hailed by marine biologists for their exceptionally healthy condition and great diversity.

Diving course

Not yet certified to dive? A diving school has been established at Mohéli since 2013, so the beauty hidden under the sea's epidermis is also unlocked for you. You can make a trial dive or take a PADI course, in water with exceptionally good visibility and a pleasant temperature. You can already start admiring the first cathedrals of coral during this diving course.
