An elegant safari camp in Samburu
Sasaab is located in Samburu Westgate Conservancy, adjacent to Samburu National Reserve. The logde itself offers a lot of privacy with accommodations scattered over the hilly terrain. The nine rooms are individually decorated, understated and elegant with a mix of Moroccan and Swahili elements. From your own porch or garden with plunge pool you have a fantastic view of the Ewaso Nyiro River. A favourite drinking and seaside resort of the elephants in the area. The pristine, rugged wilderness around you is impressive and perfect for a true African safari.
Visit the Samburu tribe
Besides a rough nature, there is also a lot to do culturally, such as a visit to the Samburu tribe and local Samburu markets. Game drives are also organised from the camp, both during the day and at night. In addition to large herds of elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, you will also be treated to the Samburu Special Five: grevy's zebra, giraffes, beisa oryx, gerenuk and the Somali ostrich. Very nice with kids are the special wildlife walking, camel riding and fly camping. Lounging and relaxing enjoy the beautiful surroundings can also be done in Sasaab. For example, in the luxury spa, located on the banks of the river. As you enjoy a delicious massage, look out over the steady flow of the river and dream away at the sound of happy whistling birds. This enchantment is only interrupted by the spectacle of the other 'visitors' of the river. You can laze by the pool or on the cushions in the 'souk-style' fitted mess.
