Domwe Island Adventure Camp

Robinson   Crusoe experience in simple tented camp

Domwe Island, the largest uninhabited island in Lake Malawi, is separated from the mainland by the narrow Ilala Gap. Unlike the other islands, there is an eclectic selection of mammals, reptiles and birds. A unique combination of island and African bush environment.

Bring food and prepare yourself

Tucked away in lush vegetation is the Domwe Island Adventure Camp,on a small beach. This simple yet exclusive camp has three fully equipped safari tents and two 'tent pitches' under a thatched roof, all with stunning views over the lake's shimmering azure waters. You can prepare your food yourself in the fully equipped kitchen. There is no food for sale on the island, so you will have to take care of your own ingredients.   Experience your own Robinson Crusoe experience here!

A stay at the camp can be as energetic or as relaxing as you like: active people walking along challenging nature trails, nature lovers observing birds and other animals, explorers kayaking along the coastline. In between all these activities it is wonderful to relax in the sheltered hammocks. Enjoy the spectacular sunsets behind the mountains!
