Malawi's first safari camp
The family-friendly Mvuu Camp is located in the picturesqueLiwonde National Park, on the banks of the Shire River full of grunting hippos and lurking crocodiles. This wetland area is home to many wildlife such as elephants, hippos, impala, warthogs and large herds of grazing waterbuck but birdwatchers can also enjoy themselves here. A particularly rewarding way to reach the camp is via a boat trip from Liwonde Town. The journey takes you 30 kilometres along the banks of the Shire and offers an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the changing landscape, vegetation, wildlife and birds.
The common area consists of a large wooden, thatched dining room, bar and lounge guarded by two huge baobab trees. Nine walk-in tents and five stone chalets are spread out along the river and have river views full of crocodiles, hippos and drinking wildlife or on the lush garden.
