Scottish highlands in Africa
The Nyika Plateau N.P. is situated at an altitude of more than 2000 metres, which brings with it pleasant temperatures. Mountain forests, open savannas, steep peaks and streams alternate. The vast and rolling hills, covered in grass and occasionally interrupted by a patch of forest, are comparable to the Scottish Highlands. However, the zebras, elk and roan antelope create a real African atmosphere. Due to the vastness of the park you can enjoy beautiful views here, sometimes as far as Lake Malawi and Tanzania. There are many different species of birds to observe and more than 200 different orchids. In the park you can make safaris on horseback, by open land rover, but also go by mountain bike for exploring.
