Mopti - Venice of Mali
Mopti; an impressive and bustling city, built on three islands where the Rivers Bani and Niger meet. With its beautiful harbour and market, Mopti is also called the Venice of Mali. In the port you can see various, colorful populations, such as the Bozo fishermen, the Dogon, the Bambara and Bella farmers, the Touareg and Peul shepherds, who populate here with their own where the quay. In a pinasse (wooden pram) you can watch the beautiful sunset from the water. From Mopti you can visit the villages of the Pod, the Touareg and the Bozo.
