Zebra and wildebeest migration in Serengeti
The Serengeti in Tanzania and the Masai Mara in Kenya are known worldwide for the annual migration, also known as the Great Migration. During the migration, more than a million wildebeest and zebra migrate across the vast plains in search of lush grasslands. A unique and impressive natural spectacle! The nearly 1,000-kilometer trek begins in February in the southern Serengeti. Thousands of young calves are born. The large herds migrate to the western Serengeti where they cross the Grumeti River around the month of June. In August - September, the large numbers of animals arrive on the plains of the Masai Mara.
Untamed Travelling closely follows the migration. Be well informed where and when the migration is. We're happy to book the best accommodation for you, so you don't have to miss anything of the migration during your stay in the Serengeti or the Masai Mara.
