Voodoo Festival

Ouidah used to be an important port from where many slaves left, especially to Brazil. A monument in this coastal town and a museum with an exhibition on the slave trade still reminds of that time. Today, Ouidah is the spiritual capital of Voodoo. Once a year, in January, the Voodoo Festival is held in Ouidah Other highlights   include a visit to the Python Temple and a visit to one of africa's largest Portuguese forts.
