The concept of 'From reeds to rooms'
When the rains stop, when mud puddles dry up and roads become passable again, safari operators in Zambia take action. In all sorts of remote corners of game reserves, they go to work getting temporary encampments in order for the new season. There are some encampments that consist mainly of sturdy canvas safari tents, but mostly they are beautiful constructions made from local materials. New walls are erected from woven reeds and grasses, roofs and wooden decks are renewed where needed, rooms are furnished with comfortable furniture and elegant decorations. Sanitary facilities are also adequate and built to ecological standards.
