Somalisa Acacia Camp by African Bush Camps is located next to the more famous Somalisa Camp in the heart of Hwange National Park. This is the smaller sister of the two, and with only four luxury tents, this is an ideal encampment to privatize if you are traveling with a small group or family. The camp overlooks a small waterhole where herds of big game such as buffalo, elephant, kudu, zebra, giraffe and lion descend, and there is a "pool" specifically for elephants.
The simple comfortable tents are built on a raised deck and are under a canopy of acacia trees. During the heat of the day, it is great to cool off in the small pool. Enjoy the tasty creations of the chef, who prepares his meals with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Have your meal accompanied by beautiful South African wines.
With a 4WD vehicle, you will have the chance to observe lions, leopards, hyenas, wild dogs, white rhinos, the rare and endangered roan antelope and many other wild animals. Stop in the wide valley and enjoy a gin & tonic as the sun sinks red on the horizon. After the first rain walk through Kennedy Vlei full of flowers with flamboyant colors, an unforgettable safari!
