Shetland Islands
Deception Island is actually the top of an active volcano and is part of the southern Shetland Islands off the coast of the Antarctic Peninsula. The landscape is defined by volcanic slopes and glaciers. Volcanic activity warms the water in the bays of the island, so you can even take a bath there.
King George Island is the largest island of the Southern Shetlands. Several countries have built research stations on the island, some of which can be visited.
