Tented Camp at Chhatra Sagar Lake
If you wake up early enough in the morning, you can see how the sun slowly rises from the Chhatra Sagar Lake. During breakfast at the edge of the lake, the sun is already high in the sky, causing a glint on the water.
Like the lake, the tented camp is named after a powerful man from the former Marwar kingdom in India's Jodhpur. In the late eighteenth century, he decided to dam the river through his kingdom. This created a water reservoir to provide water for crops even during dry periods. The dry Nimaj turned into an oasis. To this day, farmers cultivate the surrounding lands and live here in harmony with nature. In order to preserve the open expanse of nature, there was never much permanent construction. And that's why guests stay here in a tent.

- Visit the settlements around the Chhatra Sagar. Farmers and shepherds settled here around 1900, their lifestyle has changed very little since then.
- The combination of wetlands, forest, grasslands and farms makes a diversity of bird species feel at home here. A local guide will take you on a 'bird walk' to spot as many species as possible
