The Rahai'i Pangun is a traditional riverboat, still used today on the many rivers of Kalimantan (the Indonesian part of Borneo) as the "bis air," the river bus. The 22-meter-long ship has been specially converted by local craftsmen into a beautiful luxury cruise boat, providing the finest orangutan cruises along the Rungan and Katingan rivers in southern Kalimantan. The Rahai'i Pangun has 4 newly renovated cabins; the upper deck is spacious and comfortable with couches and deck chairs. On the deck you can enjoy the passing scenery, excellent service and great food.
Social enterprise
The boat Rahai'i Pangun is run by WOW Borneo, a social enterprise with a strong focus on recruiting, training and supporting local people and nurturing the local community and environment. Also, WOW works closely with BOS (Borneo Orangutan Survival) Foundation.
