Amanwella

Resort on the south coast

The dirt path already betrays it: there is no rush here. Tucked away in a coconut palm forest, on the waters of the Indian Ocean, lies Amanwella. A small resort on the South Coast of Sri Lanka.
The honey-coloured décor of the suites creates a warm look. The spaces are minimalistally decorated. No crowds here, just the rustling of the sea. Due to the large windows and open décor of the resort, the ocean is never hidden from view. However, guests can also find their privacy here: each suite has a private terrace with swimming pool.

Peace and tranquility does not mean that there is nothing to do here. The authentic fishing village of Tangalle is within walking distance. Ten kilometres away, sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand every night. The Mulgirigala temple with ancient inscriptions is only half an hour inland. A lot further is the port of Mirissa. But an hour and a half's drive is a small effort to see the particular blue whale.
