Tranquility and beautiful bays
Gozo may be a small island, but it's incredibly beautiful there's so much to do that you can easily stay there for a week. The contrast with Malta is also quite large. Malta is bustling and busy while on Gozo time seems to have stood still. Be sure to visit the place of Victoria, as do the megalithic temples of Gantija and the many dreamy bays. The island is perfect for walking or cycling.
A day trip to Comino is really worth it during a holiday in Malta. The island is only 3.5 square kilometres in size and is located exactly between Malta and Gozo. It takes its name from 'cuminum' (Cuminum cyminum). This herb grows everywhere on the island and gives it the so typical brownish color. Comino is especially popular with swimmers, snorkelers and divers because of the clear blue water and the beautiful bays of which the Blue Lagoon is the most famous.
The Blue Lagoon is a sheltered bay, where the water is brilliantly blue and incredibly clear. Sometimes you can look up to 30 meters deep.
