Palumeu Lodge is a small-scale ecolodge in the middle of the Surinamese rainforest. It is close to the remote Indian village of Palumeu, where howler monkeys and birds herald the dawn of the day and impressive rapids and rich variety of flora and fauna make your stay even more spectacular. On this multi-day jungle adventure, you'll take river tours by canoe and brisk wildlife-spotting walks, your local guide will devote yourself to the habits and customs of the Trio and wajana tribe, and learn about medicinal and edible plants from the forest. Tips & Tops Palumue Lodge:
- Six rooms in three chalets; each room has a separate sleeping area with two single beds equipped with mosquito nets and its own toilet and shower with cold running water.
- Opportunity to paddle, traditional bow and arrow shooting lessons, fishing and bird watching from the lodge.
- Combine Awarradam and Pulumeu with each other!
- Only accessible by small propellor plane.
- From Pulumeu you can also make a jungle expedition to the sacred mountain Kasikasima (5 to 8 days); from the top you have breathtaking views of the rainforest.
