Zambia: Female Guides Program

Female rangers through ABC Foundation

Untamed has been working together with African Bush Camps for years with full satisfaction. A.B.C. founded the ABC Foundation, where several different projects are running, such as an Anti Poaching training aimed at female rangers, a training for Female guides.

African Bush Camps’ Female Guides program is a two-year course that trains women to become safari guides through theory, practical training and work experience. Participants learn skills such as wildlife knowledge, conservation, tracking and mokoro boating, while mentors support professional development. The program has expanded from Botswana to Zambia and is co-sponsored by multiple sponsors, with the goal of giving more women opportunities in the traditionally male-dominated safari industry. More information about this project can be found at: African Bush Camps Foundation

Art in the Bush

We joined forces with African Bush Camps and use art as a guarantee for nature conservation with ‘ Art in the Bush ‘, a project in which two artists could gain inspiration in the Zimbabwean bush for a month and create local awareness of the need for conservation and protection. A portion of the proceeds from the auctioned works benefited the African Bushcamps Foundation, which invests in rural communities in fragile wildlife areas in Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe through education, support, infrastructure and conservation.
