Atmospheric lodge amid coffee plantations
The Aregash Lodge is located on a former coffee plantation, in the middle of the authentic town of Yirga Alem. In the midst of this enchanting mountainous landscape, you will come to rest completely. No over the top luxury, but service, tranquility and close tonature. The beautiful lodge consists of ten spacious Tukuls, built in the style of a traditional Sidama village. The natural materials such as bamboo and reeds that are used contribute to the pure and rustic look. Each bungalow is beautifully decorated in traditional Sidama style, with vibrant colors and yet understated with a warm and luxurious look. Be surprised by the versatile cuisine where traditional Ethiopian and Sidama dishes are combined with Italian influences. A remnant of the Italian occupation.
The restaurant, also built in traditional Sidama bamboo style, has a terrace with fantastic views of the surroundings. Here you can really unwind. The silence is only broken by the sound of singing birds. The nearby forest is home to more than 100 100 species of mammals and native birds. But not only rest seekers will regard Aregash as a paradise, but also the active among us will find enough inspiration here. On horseback or by mountain bike you can 'roam' through this beautiful area for hours and discover something new each time.
