Harar hyena man
The city of Harar is located in eastern Ethiopia and has a special historical centre. In 2006 the historic centre of the city was declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Due to the walled city centre, the city has a different atmosphere than other cities in Ethiopia. Narrow streets, dozens of mosques, coffee shops and colourful shops define the streetscape.
The main attraction of Harar, however, is not the city, but the hyena-man. This man carries the spotted hyenas out of the area every night. The hyena man is considered one of Ethiopia's biggest attractions.
