Governors’ Camp Masai Mara

Experience the annual migration

Governors' Camp is located in Masai Mara, the heart of Africa's Great Plains. With an area of 1,672 km² of unspoiled nature, this is one of the most fantastic areas of Kenya and Africa. With its rolling gold-colored grasslands, dotted with acacia trees, winding rivers, beautiful forests this is an important habitat for various wildlife species and birds. The highlight, of course, is the annual migration, between July and October, when one and a half million wildebeest, together with large numbers of zebras and gazelles make the dangerous journey from the dry soils of Tanzania to this part of Kenya.
The camp is located in a magical spot on the banks of the winding Mara River, full of bird life, hippos and crocodiles. But also elephants that take a walk during the day, and sometimes even through the camp. For adventurous guests, the camp offers a safari with hot air balloon or a sensational walking safari, where you literally go 'among the wild animals'. Of course under the guidance of very experienced guides.   Some of the 37 luxury canvas tents are located, somewhat tucked away in the forest, on the banks of the Mara River. From your porch you have spectacular river views. The other tents offer views of the vast plains of the Masai. The central part of the camp has a bar with terrace, and tent in which meals are served. Of course with spectacular views!
