A unique lodge in Lake Victoria
Rusinga Island Lodge consists of six cottages and a family cottage. The high thatched roofs and the spacious veranda overlooking the beautiful gardens with rolling lawns and the shimmering waters of Lake Victoria give this place and lodge an almost serene atmosphere. The perfect place to catch your breath after the exciting East African safaris. The famous Masai Mara Game Reserve is about 125 kilometres away. The lodge itself is located in the middle of Lake Victoria, on Rusinga Island where a large number of exotic birds live.
Atmospheric lodge
The spacious and charming rooms are decorated with a great sense of atmosphere, using natural materials and light colours. They have a double bed or two separate beds, with living room and changing room. In the en-suite bathroom you will find a lovely walk-in shower and a double sink. In a comfortable lounger by the pool you can relax and read a book or equip one of the many activities you can do here (nothing!) Like fishing from a small boat as you watch the sun come up. The fish you catch is also prepared with great love by the chefs. Various water sports including water skiing and sailing. But also mountain biking or walking along the caves on Mfangano Island, where you will still find rock paintings of former inhabitants.
In this beautiful environment you prefer to be outdoors as much as possible. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served outside as much as possible. In the grass, in the shade of the palm trees or on one of the scaffolding that run into Lake Victoria.
