Fish River Canyon is the second largest canyon in the world and a safe haven for animals such as the rare mountain zebra and shy klipspringer. Fish River Canyon is characterized by rugged barren mountains, deep gorges and a succession of beautifully colored rocks. The impressive ravine is 160 kilometers long, 500 meters deep on average and up to 25 kilometers wide in some sections.
