The habitat of the Diola
The Casamance is a region in the south of Senegal that perhaps captures the imagination the most. The landscape is very varied and consists of beautiful tropical forests, palm trees, rice paddies, quiet roads lined with large shady kapok trees, meandering creeks, and fantastic beaches. It is also the habitat of the Diolas, who still live very traditional and have not converted to Islam in opposition to most tribes in Senegal. In this authentic part of Senegal you take a step back in time.
