Rare mountain gorillas and pygmy
For many people, the main reason to travel to Uganda is to visit the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park,to look for the rare mountain gorillas that live here. The forest on the flanks of the steep mountains seems impenetrable. Trees grow up to 60 meters and hardly let light through. Through the dim forest, you will search for the rare 'mountain giants' under the guidance of an expert guide. The trekking through the humid forest can sometimes be intense, but the experience is unforgettable!
There are a total of 17 gorilla families that you can visit spread over different regions of Bwindi. Around the park live the Batwa, a local pygmy people with a still traditional lifestyle. In addition to trekkings, you can take beautiful walks between primates, a variety of trees, plants and birds.
