Rare safaris in Luangwa
South Luangwa is perhaps Zambia's most famous reserve. Here you will find the largest concentrations of game in the country and more than 400 species of birds, including the rare "Angola Pitta. Virtually all species of game from the African continent are found here. The varied landscape consists of a combination of savannahs, "miombo woodland" and open plains where floods sometimes occur. Lifeline of the area is the Luangar River. The waters of this river attract a lot of wildlife. South Luangwa N.P. has the highest concentration of leopards in Africa. The park offers safaris by open landrover as well as walking safaris. Norman Carr was the first "bush" man to make walking safaris possible. On foot, you will experience the wilderness up close. During the encounters with large and small game, all your senses will be stimulated; spectacular and intense!
