Active and adventurous, close to nature
No country better suited to a canoe safari than water-rich Zimbabwe. From Lake Kariba, the ZambeziRiver flows through a narrow mountain pass through the Zambezi Valley, a quiet stream with many branches and islets where there is a lot of wildlife to see. Quietly, you paddle downstream to experience nature up close and observe the waterfowl, impala, hippos and crocodiles undisturbed. At Mana Pools National Park, the river turns into an almost delta-like water plain.
In trails of three or four days you can go through the wildlife under the guidance of an expert guide. In the middle of nature, between the hippos, crocodiles and also elephants, lions and wild dogs you travel about 15 to 20 km a day. Depending on the chosen trail, camp on the river islands in a domed tent, without sanitary facilities or - if you need more comfort - in a mobile tented camp on the banks of the river.
A canoe rail in Zimbabwe is one of the most memorable safaris you can undertake. Guaranteed that the adrenaline will flow through your body!
