Island of legends
On the observation towers at the top of Ganang Mat Chinchang you have all around views over the largest island, Pulau Langkawi. Red roofs of villages, tight rice paddies and rubber plantations stand out. However, you mainly look out over hills, overgrown with tropical rainforest. Bare, limestone rocks break through the vegetation. Invisible are the many caves, but the Seven Wells Falls look impressive even from this height. Countless islands with white sandy beaches dusk in the distance.
The mountains, caves and islands of the Langkawi archipelago are the subject of endless legends. However, stories of pirates who used the islands as a hideout for centuries are historical. Langkawi's guides are storytellers, and the many special places you can visit take on an extra dimension.
Swimming macaques and flying dogs
On this remote island you can see surprisingly many animals, such as long-timers, touccans and eagles, and huge bats or flying dogs. In Kilim Karst Forest Park, look out for sea otters and swimming macaques! But of course you are also here for the sea. With the wind in the sails or by speedboat you will sail to hidden lagoons, deserted beaches and the most beautiful places to snorkel.
