Wilpattu National Park

With 1,320 km² Wilpattu is the largest national park in Sri Lanka. The pristine park has a wide variety of habitats including dense jungle, huge grasslands, a coastal strip and natural lakes. Here you have a chance to spot various mammals such as wild elephants, mint yawns, swimming water buffaloes and shy leopards. Also live in this national park the rare lip bears. Look out at the lakes; here you can see calm crocodiles and water dragons. In this park you will find few other tourists so you really get the feeling that you are in the wilderness.
