Van Oys Maastricht Retreat is a rural idyll on a vast private estate in Eijsden, near Maastricht. It is housed in Kasteel Oost that dates back to 1200 and has been restored and expanded while maintaining grandeur. In the Château, the high ceilings, window panes and chandeliers combine stylishly with contemporary furnishings where natural materials predominate. The former farmhouse now houses a stellar restaurant where earthy colors such as green, blue and copper and robust wood accents predominate, and a new building has been built using communal materials. The understated, chic guest suites are scattered throughout the three buildings.
