Mazuria, land of a thousand lakes
An area dotted with up to 2600 lakes and with a dense network of characteristic canals. Vast blue lakes teeming with white sails, shady forests full of wildlife and an idyllic natural landscape: welcome to the Mazurian lakes. Biebrza wetlands
Moose, wolves, beavers and otters....in the valley of the Biebrza River contains wonderful nature. The exceptional, vast peat bogs of the Biebrzański National Park offer you an unforgettable experience. The beautiful, open landscape is renowned worldwide as the breeding ground for many rare species of European waterfowl and birds of prey. In the spring, when the Biebrza exceeds its flood zone of several square kilometers, thousands of migratory birds gather here. Wooden observation towers, walkways, cycling and walking routes are at your disposal to witness this unique nature.
