In the middle of nature
Shimmering lakes, vast forests, lovely meadows, mountain peaks that reach above the tree line and the highest waterfall in the country are typical of the sparsely populated province of Dalarna. Located in the middle of Sweden and bordering Norwayto the west. In Fulufjället National Park, endless walks can be made through the mountains, where you will be treated to beautiful vistas along the way. Dalarna is also the habitat of bears, wolves, elk and lynx. Although it does take a good deal of luck to spot these shy animals.
In this region you will also definitely come across the Dalarna horse, a symbol of Dalarna and now also one of the symbols of Sweden. The wood-made and hand-painted horse can be found in Nusnäs and when visiting this part of Sweden it should not be missing from your suitcase.
